Working from our Markham office and reporting to the R&D Director, the Senior Software Testing Technician (Senior Certification Analyst) is responsible for the full scope of EMV standards compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Provide EMV migration testing and technical support services.
2. Execute software application tests on custom made systems against compatibility with the payment requirements of Master Card, Visa Card, Debit Card, American Express and other credit card companies; Discover other Card and Credit card companies.
3. Test and analyze the system with given test plans, test kits and test cards.
4. Duplicate the scenario during test execution phase; analysis, investigate, and report individual or specific defects to software developers.
5. Coordinate with testing technicians from partner companies to implement quality assurance procedure before actual operation of the POS system, and to continue testing procedures during the system in use.
6. Prepare testing report for the reference of software developers.
7. Investigate defects, and correct the problem and defects.
8. Contribute to company’s software design process, and ensure a faultless program at every stage of development.

Qualifications:

Education: A degree in computer science, computer programming, or related discipline is required.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in software development or similar role in software testing area.

Computer skills:

1. Programming Language C.
2. Financial testing tools such as: ICC solutions, and UL(Collis) Brand Test Tool.
3. Coding and debugging POS terminal (credit/debit) and EMV applications.
4. Familiar with payment processing protocols like ISO8583.
5. Low level bit map familiarity.

Responsibilities

Within the scope of corporate objectives and policies to accomplish assigned goals, this person is responsible for the following:

  • Manage the QA resources according to the business’ needs;
  • Create progressive solutions to solve complex test automation challenges;
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to architect, develop, and maintain an innovative test automation system for the organization, with respect to functionality, performance, scalability and other quality goals;
  • Apply development and QA best practices and actively look for process improvement opportunities;
  • Build and maintain automated and manual test systems;
  • Maintain test environments and test automation systems;
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and find the right balance between delivering quality products and aggressive release cycles;
  • Design automated test plans – variety of test scenarios and UAT;

Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience with setting up CI/CD processes;
  • Experience with Agile methodology and test-driven development;
  • BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical discipline; advanced degree a plus;
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience, a portion of which was within an enterprise software company with an emphasis on one or more of the following:
    • Experience in scripting language or exposure to multitude of automation frameworks;
    • Experience in designing and developing automation framework and using test tools for Rest APIs or UI automation. Full-stack preferable.
    • Ability to understand a large system/application environment including the practical knowledge of availability, scalability, clustering aspects, configurations.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following scripting languages: Perl, VBScript, JScript, etc
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools (MicroFocus UFT; SmarteScript) creation, modification, and maintenance of scripts and regressions
  • Experience with/strong knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager
  • Comfortable with setting up VM’s, automated script to install software, etc.
  • Capacity to create and maintain existing scripts/code
  • Capacity to work in a self-sufficient manner inside a team
  • Fast learner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of English (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

Within the scope of corporate objectives and policies to accomplish assigned goals, this person is responsible for the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to Posera’s English and French-speaking clients;
  • Participate in weekly Rota for Standby Emergency Support (office hours);
  • **Being part of the on-call team on a rotational basis (this includes support outside of office hours)**
  • Ensure guaranteed service times as per customer contract are respected;
  • Travel to site for planned or emergency on-site support jobs;
  • Effectively analyze and resolve issue to customer’s operational satisfaction;
  • Communicate to customer next action if issue is not resolved on site;
  • Complete job sheet/delivery notes and obtain customer signature;
  • Log all relevant information and communication in Heat (ticketing software);
  • Deliver solution to planned and assigned jobs;
  • Gather database build information from relevant source;

  • Install equipment on site as required to customer’s specification;
  • Test all equipment and peripherals on site
  • Proceed with all initial Level 1 testing as required using Lab Equipment;
